Autumn Statement 2013: Employer National Insurance Contributions (NICs) for the under 21s

Employer NICs will be abolished from 2015/16 for employees under the age of 21 and earning less than the upper earnings limit of £42,285 pa (£813 pw). This saves NICs of £500 where the employee earns £12,000 pa (rising to £1,000 where they earn £16,000).

The government estimates that this will remove employer NICs on one and a half million jobs.
